Gannon & Gannon Sign First Corporate Client

The Gannon & Gannon Language School is happy to announce that they have signed the first corporate client to the schools consulting, testing and advanced language instruction services. This follows several discussions concerning the experience and quality of present and future employees where the English language is needed to remain competitive in today’s business world. In order to provide superior services, companies in today’s market must take advantage of superior opportunities.

During a class, a representative from a Sofia based IT Company had raised concerns, expressing the need to maintain their employee communication and documentation skills. The request was then made concerning the possibility of providing on-site services. After careful deliberation and consideration of all evolved, the testing and assessment was carried out to determine the extent of services needed. Although this service has been requested in the past, Gannon & Gannon had not offered this service. At the end of the meeting Gannon & Gannon had decided to extend their present one-on-one and group training to encompass the growing corporate need for the services needed. Based on a case by case need, Gannon & Gannon will be providing “On-Site” consulting, testing and language instruction to meet the corporate needs.

Gannon & Gannon signs agreements with study abroad programs

In a drive to offer students more choices to further their education, Gannon & Gannon Language School has signed agreements with schools and facilities located in The United States, Canada, Ireland, and in Germany. These additional resources give the students attending classes the opportunity to choose how and when they participate in a program such as this. It is an excellent way to expand their knowledge of other cultures while being immersed in the language that they choose to study.

The study abroad programs focus on various programs that will help the student adjust and further their education to become competitive in today’s economical society. Acting as an agent for these programs allows Gannon & Gannon Language School to evaluate the student needs and to introduce them to an overseas school that will fulfill their desire to enter into the study abroad program. The advantage of using a school such as Gannon & Gannon Language School to help arrange the study abroad program is that the language requirements of the schools abroad can be met prior to enrollment into the selected program.

Many schools abroad require certification standard be met for certain schools and being a TESOL Authorized Certification and training center, Gannon & Gannon Language School can take care of this requirement. The TESOL Certification Program is an intensive course which provides participants with professional knowledge and skills in Teaching as well as tools for their own reflection and growth as teachers.

By preparing the student prior to entrance in to a university or another school of higher learning greatly decreases possible future trouble of not completely understanding the courses taught. This preparation dramatically increases the grade average of the student and allows them to get the most out of their education experience.

The Enormous Turnip Returns

Back on May 18th 2009 the children from school #46 that were the beginning of the Time4Tots program started by the Gannon & Gannon Language School put on a play performed in both Bulgarian and English. The play was a huge success and the children performed great. Now as the new school year begins, the Director of school #46 asked the children to perform at the Bulgarian National Theater on September 18th for “The Day of Sofia” a holiday celebrated each year in Sofia, Bulgaria.
With no hesitation the children who put on the play “The Enormous Turnip” were once again ready to perform. This is a fantastic honor for all of the children and a show of appreciation for all of the hard work that they put into their performance and to help celebrate this holiday for the city. We hope that these continued efforts will inspire others to help the children in their communities.

After a successful finish of the school year and a great week at our first annual English Immersion summer school, Gannon & Gannon Language school is gearing up for a new school year. Preparations are being made to hold what we hope is only the first of many TESOL Young Learners certification classes. The debut class will be held next month at school #46 in Sofia and we anticipate another positive out come.

As a new school year begins we hope to contact more local schools and get more people involved in helping children get more out of school.

May 27th 2009 Open Class

On May 27th prior to the achievement awards, we held an open class for the second grade class at school # 46. During this class the children were given an oral examination that is based on the TESOL level 2 Young learners examination. Each question was answered correctly without any repetition or mistakes. This was a welcomed outcome for the Director, Teachers and parents who attended.

The outcome proved that time given to these children was extremely well used. The majority of the classes are learning a third language which is English, and the outcome was astonishing. The class was awarded their achievement awards and the Director gave her approval for the continuance of the program. This is the outcome that we had hoped for so the children can continue to receive the additional help that they need.

On May 27th the children who participated in the time4tots program and school play will receive their well earned achievement awards in an open class to be attended by the school director. The awards to be given by Gannon & Gannon Language School.

The Enormous Turnip II

The play was a huge success and the children performed great. This play was written by their second grade teacher and then translated, the children learned their lines in a very short period. For most of the children in the play, the English language is their 3rd language so it made the task even tougher. Pictures from this event will be posted soon on the time4tots website.
